Hah! You better have Burn Heal if you think you’re ready to become a Fire Gym Leader! With plenty of support options and multiple Trainer-based Energy accelerators, there is a lot to love about Fire type Pokémon in Gym leader Challenge!

Support Pokémon

Inferno Fandango! Get it!? It’s like the Fire version of Rain Dance! With Emboar’s (White Flare) Inferno Fandango Ability, you can attach as many Fire Energy from your hand to your Pokémon as you like during your turn, and with Charizard (Pokémon GO), you can make each of those Fire energy count as two! Magcargo (Celestial Storm) and Rapidash (Destined Rivals) also make for a fiery duo. Magcargo’s Smooth Over Ability can stack any card on top of the deck, while Rapidash’s Hurried Gait can draw it to hand! Torchic (Primal Clash), may be the unsung hero of any fire deck. Thanks to its Omega Barrage Trait, it can attack twice per turn! That means you can combo Torchic with TM: Turbo Energize or TM: Evolution to charge your board with 4 Energy or 4 Evolution Pokémon as early as the first turn of the game!

Attackers

You’re truly never safe playing against a Fire deck, not even on the Bench! Heatmor (Fusion Strike), Ninetales (Obsidian Flames), and Blaziken (Destined Rivals) all spread damage to the bench and knock out crucial support Pokémon! Chi-Yu (Paradox Rift) effortlessly keeps the trade going with its powerful Megafire of Envy attack, which does 140 damage if one of your Pokémon was knocked out the previous turn. Then, watch out for Gouging Fire (Surging Sparks) in the back half of the match! Its Blazing Charge attack does 170 damage if your opponent has 4 or less Prize Cards remaining!
